- Dogs burn both mental and physical energy during searches by focusing deeply and engaging in their natural, instinctive scenting behaviors.
- No prior training is required, and no “obedience” is needed. This means that all dogs, regardless of their training or behavior, can participate and enjoy the benefits of K9 Nose Work. In classes, dogs work one at a time and rest safely in a vehicle between searches so any dog – even reactive ones – can enjoy the activity.
- Shy or fearful dogs build confidence and independence, and overactive dogs put their energy into fun searches.

Our Philosophy
We follow the philosophy of the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) in teaching both canines and handlers how to search effectively. Our approach begins by training dogs to hunt using food (primary reward), gradually introducing all search elements and increasingly complex problems before transitioning to target odor. This method allows dogs to build self-confidence and independence in the search environment, setting the team up for greater success as challenges become more complex.
